How do I sign up

Do I need to be professionally certified as an accountant or consultant in order to become a "Business Guide" ?

No. Like all businesses, we look for people with relevant training and or experience but professional certification is not necessary. We require that you provide a brief summary of your experience.

Yes. The Annual $259.95 registration fee includes the right to receive unlimited referrals from The Business Guide Incorporated for 12 months. It also includes unlimited access to our entire site for 12 months. This includes the federal and provincial program information for all provinces, the business plan template, the idea evaluation tool and the "Accessing Government Funding" e-book. These tools are designed to help you to assist the clients we refer.

That is entirely up to you. The standard rate is approximately $60.00 per hour although you really need to judge yourself accordingly based on the clients financial situation. Some consultants work on a % basis. They will charge a % of the amount of funding obtained. Some require a % up front while others will charge a % if the applicant is successful in receiving funding. This latter approach is less desirable and obviously more risky because if the applicant ids not successful you get nothing. Should you choose this approach you should increase the % accordingly to offset the risk.

How many referrals can I expect to receive over the 12 month period ?

You can expect an average of 1 to 2 per week or 50 to 75 referrals over the year. Remember, you can make your investment back and more besides on any one of them.

Do I keep all of the money paid to me by the referred client or does a share go to The Business Guide ?

You keep all of the money the client pays you. We only charge you for the right to receive referrals from us. After that, you do the work so you reap the benefits. We do not take a cut.

Do you have a sample contract for use between Business Guide consultants and referred clients?
