Federal and Provincial Elected Officials

Why do we link you to your provincial and federal members?

As I discuss in the “Accessing Government Funding” e-book, having the support of your elected members can go a long way toward getting your application approved.

The best way to do this is to contact your member and solicit their support before you apply for funding. If possible, request a meeting, explain what you are trying to achieve and how it will benefit their constituency. Usual benefits are increased employment levels and a boost to the local economy.

Ask for a letter of support on their official letterhead. Then attach this letter with your funding application. Don’t worry this is not seen as political interference. It is simply an elected official supporting an initiative that he or she perceives as being beneficial to their riding.

Click the MP's button to locate your federal member.

To locate your provincial member, select your province.
