Support for Self-Employment

Assistance Type: Grant

Objective

Offer support and counseling to individuals who present promising projects to help them achieve autonomy when they enter the labor market, whether it is through the creation or development of a business or by becoming self-employed workers.

Targeted Clients

Participants eligible for Employment Insurance, Income Security or unemployed - without financial assistance, and workers with precarious status.

Criteria for eligibility

• The project must be viable, respond to a need within its locality, offer no possibility of saturating the economic sector, nor because of the assistance provided, be an unfair competition to an established business to be selected.
• Only the projects in need of the measure for their implementation are eligible.

Eligible activities

• Development of a business plan, starting the business.

Maximum duration

The duration of the financial and technical help will be determined on a case by case basis, in agreement with the participant, for a limited period of 52 weeks. The determined duration can be revised during the project's progress.
