 This organization offers two forms of financial assistance only one of which is outlined below. 

Consultants' Subsidy Fund

The purpose of the Consultants' Subsidy Fund is to provide NLOWE clients with financial assistance to hire a consultant in relation to work required to start a business or to expand a business. In addition to the financial subsidy, women also receive guidance on hiring a consultant. They are provided with a listing of recommended consultants from which to choose. These consultants have undergone some screening by NLOWE. The fund can be used for a variety of services including such things as:

• business plan writing

• market research

• marketing plans

• setting up accounting records

• other business requirements

Eligible amount for subsidy

The maximum amount eligible for a subsidy is $2,000. Women are eligible for a 75% subsidy on amounts up to $2000. This would bring the total maximum subsidy per client to $1500. Clients may enter into contracts which exceed $2,000 in total but they will have to pay the full fee over the $2,000. In order to maintain an equitable distribution of the fund, clients are only eligible for one cumulative subsidy up to $1500.

Application Fee

There is a $35 application fee, payable when a request is made to use the Consultants' Fund.

Eligible Consultants
NLOWE will maintain an eligibility list of available consultants in each region. These consultants will have undergone some screening and evaluation. Consultants on NLOWE's eligible list will be recommended to clients.
